Over the years, I have come to LOVE decorating for Valentines Day… I use to NEVER do much for this holiday, but I find myself decorating a little more for it each time it comes around… now, I can’t seem to STOP!
I’ve even been creating WAY more Valentines projects than I ever have… and right around New Years Eve, it dawned on me. I knew I wanted to MAKE a statement piece to hang right above the mantel, so I ran to hobby lobby to gather my supplies to make my vision come to life!
In my head, I wanted to create the word LOVE, but have each letter in a different style and with a different background. I wasn’t exactly sure how it would turn out, but I wanted to at least TRY!
I found 4 matching frames that were all 12×16, and they were all 50% off… SCORE!
Since I wanted the majority of letters to have different backgrounds, I gathered up some Valentines fabrics from Hobby Lobby, as well as some burlap!
All I did was wrap each fabric around the piece of backing that was included inside the frame. I did NOT cover the fabric with the glass… I saved those so I could re-use the frames after Valentines Day!
Since I wanted each letter to be a different style, I had to get creative! I bought the letters O and V at Hobby Lobby, and left them as is. For the L, I cut an L shape into fabric, and hot glued it on the frame! For the E, I wrapped a wooden E that I already had in my craft stash with this yarn from Hobby Lobby!
I hung each frame up above the mantel, and I was DONE!
BOOM! I am absolutely THRILLED with how this came out… and even more thrilled that it looks as good in person than it did in my head, LOL!
You know I can’t decorate my mantel without layering on the garlands! I found the red beaded garland at a local boutique on sale for 50% off (since it was technically Christmas) and I found this precious felt garland at HomeGoods!
The wooden garland I have is actually from a wholesaler, so I am linking a very similar one from Amazon HERE! *affiliate
Would it really be ME if I didn’t include some natural elements somewhere?!?! I ran out to my yard and picked up some sticks, and stuck them in each vase… talk about decorating on a budget!!
I always love adding in different textures and layering pieces when decorating… so, I found this wicker planter from HomeGoods, but am using it as a basket!! I knew I wanted to display a blanket in it, so it did the job just perfectly!
I am honestly SO happy with how my Valentines decor came out this year… the mantel, tree, EVERYTHING!!!

Brooke, your mantle and tree are beautiful! I love snowman and keep them up till March, I barely had any Valentine decorations, but I’m separated right now and decided to be my Valentine to myself and decorating for Valentine’s Day. (This is the first year I have an artificial tree). It’s been so much fun, thank you as always for your decorations. By the way, my daughter who is 20 loved all your clothes I gave her for Christmas!

I love the mantel LOVE project. Absolutely beautiful and not difficult. I can see me doing this in a little smaller version for my wall somewhere since I don’t have a fireplace!
