A certain little girl’s 4 year birthday party is quickly approaching, and I have been trying to be extra creative this year. I don’t want to spend too much, and I want it to be cute. At times, that can be hard! I don’t have a tiered cake stand, and I have been wanting one. I see them different places and almost buy them, but never do. So, I decided to try to make my own! I headed to my local thrift store, got some supplies…and got to work!
As you can see, I started off with a vast array of colors and styles 馃檪 That is what makes this process so much FUN! It doesn’t matter what it looks like at the beginning because in the end, it will all look the same!
Time to start spray painting!聽I chose white because it is just a good neutral that will go with anything. As you will see later on, I styled this stand in a couple of different ways just to show how functional it truly is! {We haven’t even had the party yet!}
After they were all painted and had time to dry {hour tops}, I brought them inside and arranged them how I wanted them. I ended up deciding to only use 1 candlestick in between the 2 plates. It was the easiest way to make my stand, and it looked cute! I used a hot glue gun to glue them all together {BUT…I would recommend something much stronger, like liquid nails or something. This isn’t the strongest.} Once it was set really well and not going anywhere, I was ready to start playing with it! While I plan to use it at Eden’s party {as I mentioned before}, I also knew that when that was over, there was many more uses for it around my home!
I went ahead and took some pictures of a couple of the ideas I had!
How cute would this be in your kitchen styled for any holiday, or with just聽some fresh fruits?!
I had another idea for this stand too! I am constantly needing somewhere to keep all of my “extra” jewelry! This is PERFECT for my bracelets! {And since this picture, it has accumulated lots of random earrings!}
Doesn’t this make you want to run out to your local thrift store and buy up some old ugly plates and brassy candlesticks and make one for yourself?! This one cost me a whopping $2.50 plus the paint {which I had on hand}, so it doesn’t get much cheaper than that…and it was EASY~another definite winner in my book.
Eden’s party is this weekend. I can’t wait to use this for cute little cookies or some other goodies 馃檪 {Of course I will show pictures of that too!}
