Since we built our home in 2019, my favorite place to decorate for the seasons and holidays has always been the coffee bar! It was a must have when building, and it has houses many cute decor items and countless cups of joe! BUT…over time, it felt like it was lacking the character I wanted.

Sometimes, things just get boring to us! It is a fact of life, especially in our homes! And…when that happens, I have good news! MANY things can be changed sooooo easily with one thing…PAINT!
In my case, my “boring” coffee bar just needed some jazzing up with a good ole can of paint and another good ole thing of spray paint! It was EASY…and it was EFFECTIVE. That is one of my very favorite combinations!
First, Brandon unscrewed the shelf from the wall. Then we unscrewed each board from the iron pieces.
Once all of that was done, we separated it to prepare to paint.
The rest of the process is super self-explanatory! We used chalk paint that I got at Lowes because I thought it would cover the wood a little easier. We DID make sure to clean all the dust and debris off the wood really good before applying any paint. This is KEY.
It took about 4 coats of paint to fully cover the wood, but we could have gotten by with a little less probably. We just wanted to make SURE it was covered!
For the spray paint, it only took 2 coats to cover (not even a full can!).
How AMAZING does this gold look!! OOOH LALA!
Once it all dried, we put it all back together and attached it right back to the wall!
Isn’t it AMAZING the difference??? It literally POPS agains that wood accent wall!聽Tomorrow I will show you how I have it all DECORATED!
