We are MOVED. Hallelujah! It has felt like the longest process ever, let me tell you. We have too much stuff. You really don’t realize how much you have until you go to move it all. I am like, what in the world?! Where did all of this come from?! Right now I still have a garage FULL ready for the church yard sale this weekend, and I probably should have gotten rid of even more. Just pitiful. We are such a consumerist society.
Truth is, even though we are officially moved, we are still not finished “moving”. I still have to finish up cleaning at the foreclosure house and have that yard sale {update—had the yard sale and sold a ton!}…plus a few little odd and end things there. BUT…it is super close to being done- so the new owners can move in very very soon! I hope I never leave this farm, folks. I don’t like moving and I am SO dang ready to settle in and be rooted!
I haven’t had internet in over a week, and I was soooo ready to get back to blogging! I can’t wait to share this process with you and what all we have been up to. This single wide is coming right along and it is chalked full with some cool projects that I think you will love. {If you are new here and are confused at what I am talking about with all of this, check out this post HERE}
Let me refresh you on a few “before” pictures of this single wide mobile home that we have moved into! The outside is fine, so not much will change on it.
Kitchen Before
You can check out the full before post to see most of the pictures, but that’s just a little reminder of where we started in the kitchen.
Right now, I have decorated quite a bit, especially in the living room and kitchen, our bedroom and the kid’s bedroom…but I am not finished by any means. We have been here about a week, and we have just been super busy. In the kitchen, the cabinets have been painted a gorgeous aqua- and we have a $40 backsplash that you will NOT believe! I can’t wait to share that one. There are also lots more fun projects that were done- and even MORE that I still have to do {ex: painting allllll the doors so they don’t look so “fake, and lots more}!
Here are a few pics, just to give you an idea of what is to come soon!
Marble island top {or is it???} Can you tell in this picture? You know darn good and well it isn’t marble on the budget I had! This was under $7. Can’t wait to share!
Right now I am doing dishes the old school way- By HAND! gasp. hahaha. Do any of you do your dishes by hand still? I actually don’t mind it, but I did realize how spoiled I am. I have a dishwasher here, but my husband is fixing it, so it is out of commission right now. Wonder if I will miss this?
Anyway, do you see a glimpse of that backsplash? That is another DIY that you will love. Cannot wait. { Real life pic right here, folks. Certainly not staged! Haha}
And we have a kitchen table! Our dining table wouldn’t fit from our other house, so I found this one at a local booth mall. It is the PERFECT size. I will be painting and fixing it up soon! I already covered the seats. They were pretty ugly {I will show those pics in the post!}
So, I gave a few sneak peeks into the kitchen 🙂 There are MANY more areas that I will show you soon, hopefully…and LOTS of furniture makeovers that I will have to do- so stay tuned. This is decorating on a budget at its finest- and because it’s all being done by me- it is going to take me a little while to get it all done- so enjoy the ride as I share along the way!

Brooke,
I’m so excited to see what you have done! I kept your email for last, so I could enjoy it… Then it’s like what my mama did when I was little. Here a peek, that’s all you get for a while! But that’s ok.
That way, it will be cooler here in East Tennessee and I can sip Pumpkin Spice something and Uhh and Ahhh!!
And yes I still wash some of my dishes by hand. Small loads mostly. Like you I enjoy it. You are correct when you say we are spoiled and way consumeristic.
I love your blog! We moved back home three years ago. Back to my grandparent’s farm. I don’t ever want to leave.
Thank you for keeping my interest piqued!

I cannot wait for you to share the backsplash! I’m so wanting/needing a backsplash, but I’m not willing to spend the money 🙂 Oh and I have a working dishwasher, but still hand-wash daily. 🙂

Moving is a chore but it looks like you have everything under control And not only that you have some fun things for the new place.

Hi! I love your post. I can’t find where you shared the information and final pictures of your remodeled trailer. Can you please point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Hey Julie! There are lots of different pictures and posts on the blog showing different rooms! I don’t have one specific post to link but if you click around in the room renovations and stuff you should see them!
