shrink wrap your tree
If you have room to keep your tree upright and like to keep it fully-decorated, wrapping the tree is a great option for storage! You can see a video HERE how we wrapped one! This keeps the tree clean and all the ornaments intact and only requires a little fluffing and tweaking when you unwrap and then you are READY TO GO! You can grab a large roll of wrap right HERE!聽
clear stackable totes
Stackable totes are the best option when you are limited on storage space. There are some super-cute red and green options, but we like the clear ones so that you can see exactly what is inside! HERE is a good option for storing all those Christmas pretties!
vacuum storage bags for fabrics
This is one of our favorite tips! If you’re like us, you have TONS of Christmas pillows and they take up soooo much room! Grab a couple of packs of these VACUUM STORAGE BAGS and prepare to save yourself A LOT of space in your Christmas storage! You just put the pillows in the bags, hook up your vacuum cleaner hose to remove the air, and VOILA!!
bubble wrap your breakable items
This may seem like a “no-brainer,” but how many times have you been in a hurry to pack away your breakables, only to find them damaged next year? Bubble wrap is clear, which allows you to see what is inside the wrapping and will also protect those special items for generations to come! You can grab some bubble wrap HERE!
erasable labels for totes
Erasable labels give you the ability to list the inventory in your totes, while also changing them if you are moving things around while you’re packing up! These LABELS are a good option because they are also removable with no residue!
smart labels for totes
If you like the idea of including an inventory of your totes and you’re SUPER ORGANIZED, these SMART LABELS are what you need!! Just download an app for iOS or Android and place a QR code sticker on your container. Go into the app and list the items in that container, so it’s EASY PEASY to find what you need with just a quick scan on your phone! These are the COOLEST!!
large clear bags for wreaths and florals
If you have a lot of wreaths and floral stems to store, these LARGE CLEAR BAGS are exactly what you need! Florals and wreaths are the worst at accumulating dust and clear bags will keep them clean while also easily identifiable when you are ready to hang them next year!
ornament storage containers
If you have a lot of ornaments that are easily breakable, these ORNAMENT STORAGE BOXES are a great option for safe-keeping until next year! This set comes with trays for the ornaments that fit neatly into a handled bag and BONUS, this bag is SO STINKIN’ CUTE!!!
silica gel packs
Silica gel packs are VERY important if you store your Christmas decor in an area that is not temperature controlled, like an attic or garage. Moisture can cause mildew to form on your keepsakes and can cause permanent damage. Just toss in a pack or two and your decor is protected, no matter what the weather! We loved THESE we found on Amazon!
lights storage reels
If you have invested in some of the pricier Christmas lights, you definitely don’t want to have them tangled up when you get ready to decorate next year. You can always use cardboard or other items around the house to wrap them, but these STORAGE REELS are inexpensive for a set of 8 and will keep your lights in primo condition until Christmas rolls around again!
We know that it’s SO HARD to resist the urge to just quickly throw everything together and deal with it later! TRUST US when we tell you that you will absolutely be thanking us when you are unpacking all your Christmas goodies next year! Another pro tip is to use the “Notes” app on our phone to keep a list of the things you will want to purchase when Christmas comes out, because you KNOW you probably won’t remember LOL!聽 Let us know if you’ve got some great ideas for storing your Christmas decor!!
Be sure to pin for later!
