In a recent Dollar General trip, I spotted this kitchen tray and some shelf liners, and a light bulb went off! Don’t you love when that happens?!?

Come along with me as I TOTALLY change the look of this $8 beaded tray!

here’s what you’ll need…

dollar general beaded tray (this one was $8)
dollar general gold geometric shelf liners
re-fabbed scissors
re-fabbed hot glue gun/hot glue
gold spray paint
navy spray paint
screwdriver (to remove handles and put back on)

While I did like the tray before, but the after reflects my style sooo MUCH more!! Let me show you how!

I was drawn to this particular liner pattern because it matches my wallpaper in my hallway! I didn’t realize it at the time, but after I checked my receipt, I saw these shelf liners were only .50¢!!! I wish I’d grabbed more!

First, we removed the handles using a little screwdriver!

Now for the most satisfying part… SPRAY PAINT!

This color is called true navy… it is a true navy for sure. I love it!

I sprayed a good layer all over my tray (including the sides and beaded detail) and let dry.

If you are looking for a good gold spray paint, this is fabulous!! I will definitely be using this in more projects soon!

Such a difference! I also sprayed the screws gold.

After I let the tray and handles get good and dry, I brought them inside cut out my shelf liner to fit.

I used a tiny dab of hot glue in each corner to adhere to the tray!

Easy peasy!

I put my handles back on, and WOW!!! I’m loving this navy/gold combo!

This beaded detail is EVERYTHING!
