These wooden banners and stars were plentiful at my local Dollar General, so I grabbed a couple with a few different crafting ideas in mind! Stay tuned for just one of the possibilities I came up with, using a COOKIE SHEET!!

Let’s get started!!! First, I traced my banner onto my scrapbook paper and cut it out.

I applied a thin layer of Modge Podge on top of the wooden banner, and placed my scrapbook paper on top.

To have a more finished look, ALWAYS make sure to sand those edges!

Next, I cut off the twine hanger part of my wood star, since I wouldn’t be using it as a hanger.

I picked up my aluminum cookie sheet from Dollar General, traced the star and cut it out! These sheets are super easy to cut- I used my regular Re-Fabbed scisscors!

I used my trusty Re-Fabbed Hot Glue Gun to glue the cookie sheet cutout to my wooden star, and decided it was definitely in need of some paint. You could absolutely leave this as is for a more rustic look!

I tried to apply a thin layer, but I got a little carried away… I actually took a paper towel and wiped this star off to try again. Turns out, I LOVED the worn look, so I kept it just like that!

See what I mean?!? MUCH better, in my opinion! I adhered the star to my banner using my Hot Glue Gun.

I dug through my craft supplies and found these wooden letters to spell USA, so I am not 100% sure where the letters are from! I originally wanted to paint polka dots on them, but I was afraid it would be too busy with the scrapbook paper, so I opted to leave as is!
