Who is already browsing for Fall and Halloween decor?! While I was searching the world wide web, I came across this cute little pillow! But this price? NO thank you! I knew I could create something similar for a fraction of the cost. So, that is just what I did!!!
here’s what you’ll need…

- TWO sherpa throw blankets (I picked up mine from Five Below)
- orange sherpa pumpkin (Michaels for the win)
- small piece of black felt
- re-fabbed hot glue gun/hot glue
- my FAVORITE scissors
I thought I saw sherpa blankets in Five Below a few weeks back, and they still had them! Score! At this point, I wasn’t sure what I was going to use as the base of my ghost, then it dawned on me to use ANOTHER blanket! It was already the perfect size and shape I was looking for and only $5 each, so it was worth a try!
Don’t have a Five Below local to you? You CAN order online! EXACT BLANKETS I USED HERE
Let’s get started! First, I unpackaged my first blanket, and cut it to be an even 32in (W) x 32in (L) in size.
The original blanket was 50in (W) x 60in (L), so I cut off quite a bit. You already know I saved the excess for another project!
Like I said, make sure to leave your second blanket inside the wrapped packaging! This is going to act as the base for the ghost.
Place the cut blanket over top of the packaged blanket. Play around with it until you are satisfied with the look. Once you are, you can hot glue the blanket to the packaging straps on the blanket. I did this so I could make sure the glue would adhere well!
You could absolutely use an old pillow as the base and fabric glue to adhere them together also!
So far, so good!!!
I took a small piece of black felt and my FAVORITE scissors and cut out his eyes!
I adhered the eyes to the ghost using my hot glue gun, of course! What would I do without it?!?
Now it’s time to glue the pumpkin to the ghosts “arms”!
And that is all folks!!!! SO EASY and I only spent a FRACTION of the cost – $15 bucks to be exact!
Are you a fan of “dupe” projects like this one?! I would love to know!!!
