Around here, we LOVE Christmas in July! What better way to celebrate than with a fresh, new craft?! I headed over to Hobby Lobby and picked up these goodies just so we could make this adorable wool Christmas tree together!
In fact, if you happen to be a Christmas fanatic like myself, I have a group that’s ALL CHRISTMAS, ALL YEAR ROUND! Click HERE to join!!!
what you’ll need…

- Re-Fabbed Branded Scissors
- Re-Fabbed Hot Glue Gun/Hot Glue
- 9×12 Canvas from Hobby Lobby
- 9 pack of Wool Roving from Hobby Lobby
- Wood Split Balls from Hobby Lobby (you will need 7 for this project)
- Clear rubber bands (I did not personally use, but it would make this process much easier!)
To see the ENTIRE process, be sure to watch my LIVE VIDEO on FACEBOOK!
Let’s get started! First, I simply cut the wool roving into small pieces and bunched it up at the top to mimic the look of tassels. You can use any scissors you like, but I prefer my Re-Fabbed Branded Scissors! They are seriously the BEST.
I adhered the piece of wool onto my canvas using my Re-Fabbed Hot Glue Gun, of course! Keep in mind this piece will act as top of the Christmas tree.
Like I mentioned above, I did not use clear rubber bands myself, but I would recommend them to hold the wool together at the top. It would make the process much easier!
Next, I repeated the steps above and glued a row of 3 small wool pieces in this muted peach color!
I also added the wood ball slice to the top to act as our tree topper! Are you seeing my vision yet??
I repeated the process and added an additional tassel to each row to give it more of a tree shape!
Seriously, how amazing are these colors together???
Finally, I added 6 wood bead slices as the tree trunk. This little addition really completed the look of this adorable tree! While I decided to leave mine as is, you could absolutely paint or stain these. SO MANY possibilities here!
I actually plan to cut out the canvas and display it a cute little frame (without the glass) to show off the dimension, so stay tuned for those photos!
I need to know, will YOU be trying this one?!? I sure hope so, because I LOVE to see what y’all come up with!!!
BE SURE TO PIN FOR LATER!!
