Decorating for Christmas truly makes my home feel like a winter wonderland! After the holidays, when the decor comes down, everything seems so bare. I love it when my Christmas decorations can also double as winter decor, and my home can remain cozy and warm throughout the winter season. Today, I am going to show you how to create a winter Christmas tree centerpiece. This winter scene can be left out all winter long! I think you’re going to love it!
For this project, I used the following supplies:
- Wooden box
- 9 piece bottle brush tree set – Hobby Lobby
- Bottle brush tree – Hobby Lobby
- Small tumbling tower game – Dollar Tree
- Faux glittery snow – Dollar Tree
- White felt fabric – Dollar Tree
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
The little bottle brush trees came in a variety pack of 9 trees, and priced at half off, they rang up for $5.50! The other slightly larger tree was on sale for $2.50, so I spent $8 on the trees.
First, I hot glued the tallest tree in the center of the wooden box. I just used a dab to keep it from sliding around.
Next, I needed to build up the smaller trees to make them taller. If I put them in the box without adding height, they would not show up. To do this, I hot glued the small wooden pieces from the tumbling tower game. I glued two blocks side by side, then built up the height as needed.
Once I had all the trees built up to varying heights, I place them down in the box. I did not glue them down. Only the center tree was glued.
Then, I cut pieces of the white felt and laid it down in the box around the tree bases. This covered the wooden bases and also helped secure the trees top prevent them from moving around.
Finally, I took the bag of faux glittery snow and sprinkled it all around the trees, covering the white felt and little treetops. I LOVE how it turned out! It’s so simple but very pretty!
I decided to take a bread bowl and try the same design concept without adding the bases. It turned out equally fabulous! I can’t decide which style I prefer more! You definitely could add in some lights and maybe miniature ornaments for more color.
These little trees would be perfect in many different arrangements. They are so versatile, and the pack of 9 trees is a great value! The trees are a wonderful evergreen color and are better quality than others I have seen.
I hope this inspires you to create a little centerpiece in your home! Which design do you prefer…the crate box or dough bowl?
