You see that little corner right there in my kitchen?
It is a boogar to decorate. It isn’t very tall, although there is room under the cabinet for something taller to go, you wouldn’t be able to see it if way up there…and there is quite a bit of open space there in that corner. I know it is hard to tell in this picture, but just trust me!
I had been trying to decide what I wanted to do back there after Christmas decorations were taken down…YOU CAN SEE HOW I DECORATED THE KITCHEN FOR CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR RIGHT HERE! I finally decided, you know what…I want to use random cutting boards. Don’t ask me what made me suddenly want to do that. I just did LOL
So, I brought out the cutting boards that I personally had on hand and then grabbed some new to go along with them. I wanted all shapes and sizes, and I wanted different color wood and textures too!
I shopped my own home first, and then I grabbed some at Beall’s and Marshall’s and called it good! I love those stores. I find soooo much there. Too much really 😀
Here’s another look at my space I was working with. I wanted it to feel full but not cluttered, if that makes sense. My kitchen is not super big and I don’t have a ton of counter space, so I only wanted to fill the void in the corner, not cut into my actual space that I use daily.
Nice assortment of beautiful cutting boards, don’t you think?
And this is what I ended up with! I arranged all of the cutting boards in different ways, keeping the taller ones in the back so they could extend into the cabinets…and then I used some other fun pieces of decor to accent around it! I LOVE how it turned out!
Just because y’all may be wondering… the blue and white box is from Beall’s, the head is from Marshall’s and I put some greenery I already had in it, and the vase is from a local store in Murray, KY called Elements. The little flowers in them came from another store in Murray, KY called Five Psalms, and I LOVE that store!
To me, there is just enough but not too much in this corner!
It turned out so beautiful!!!
I have always loved this vase! The details and the color are everything!
