Today I’m sharing one of my absolute favorite areas of my home to decorate…my coffee bar! It’s located right in my kitchen, and it makes me oh so happy every single day! I’m even a little giddy about it! Here we go!
The important thing to note here is that you do not have to own a coffee pot or even like coffee to have a “coffee bar!” All you need to do is create a little nook or hang a few shelves and get to decorating!
This year I chose to stick with a traditional red and white color scheme, so I was able to incorporate fun peppermint styles, gingerbread houses and, of course, SANTA!
Starting at the top, I hung a cute little sign above the shelf to create height and balance out the tall Santa on the left. If I didn’t have the sign, then the space beside Santa’s head would be empty and blank. I’ve had this sign for a while, but I found a few super fun options in a couple of different sizes HERE. The top shelf is where you can really experiment with height without restrictions.
I loved this adorable gingerbread house, and the peppermint spiral tree provided the perfect pop of red and white!
For the remaining shelves, I placed a mixture of items of varying textures and styles. You don’t have to spend a ton of money, just head to your favorite budget home decor store and shop their Christmas selections.
For a nice flow, I think it’s important to choose objects of varying heights and shapes. This mudpie Santa cookie jar was nice and round and fit perfectly on the shelf, and you already know how much I love me some mudpie!
These gingerbread houses are just precious! They came from Walmart, and to really highlight them, I placed a nice beaded (mudpie, of course) tray underneath them and layered some winter greenery behind. Layering and lifting items add so much dimension!
Some of my very favorite items to use are my coffee mugs! I adore a fun Christmas themed coffee mug…I literally collect them everywhere I go! I wish I could link them all for you, but I pick them up at random places. HERE is a mug similar to my Santa mugs.
To decorate with mugs, I always fill them with interesting things. You could use Christmas floral picks, candy canes or ornaments.
This Happy Everything vase is so versatile, and I use it for many different holidays and seasons. Paired with this “Merry Christmas” attachment, it was a great addition to the coffee bar!
Rounding out the coffee bar is the countertop space beneath the shelves. Y’all know I LOVE a tiered tray! They are perfect for collecting the small odd and end items and elevating them to look cohesive! More coffee mugs, ornaments and cute signs fill this space, and I even threw in some treats to go with hot cocoa!
Finally, this white and red polka dot canister set just makes me smile! Polka dots add such a fun touch to Christmas decor…and you know that little sign rings true at Christmastime!
I hope you have enjoyed this little coffee bar reveal! Just remember, add things that YOU love! To create dimension, try mixing textures, styles and items of different sizes. But most of all, HAVE FUN!
