how to create a hobnail vase using dollar tree supplies

While browsing the lovely world wide web, Kylie stumbled upon this ADORABLE vase! However, $151??? It’s a no from us.

One of her favorite things to do is re-create looks from high-end retailers also known as a “dupe”, and that’s just what she did! Come along as she shows us how on a MAJOR budget!

here’s what you’ll need…

• $3 vase from Dollar Tree
• $1.25 clear glass gems from Dollar Tree
• re-fabbed hot glue gun/hot glue
• rust-oleum french cream spray paint
• rust-oleum clear durable topcoat

Let’s get started! First, she thought she would use super glue so it would adhere better, but after some trial and error, she actually preferred using a hot glue gun! The thicker glue made the beads stick on MUCH better.

The key to gluing them on is to not do it “perfect” rows, but not TOO all over the place, either!

Some advice she has would be to pull off your little glue strands as you go, because it was a mess trying to get them off all at once… those little suckers can definitely be a nuisance sometimes!

It’s now time for the most satisfying part… SPRAY PAINT! She used the color French Cream by Rust-oleum. She sprayed in slow, sweeping motions until fully covered.

Once that was dry, she sprayed the vase well with this topcoat to seal it!

Y’ALL! You can’t convince me this doesn’t look like a vase from a high-end boutique… and with only $4.25 at the Dollar Tree and a can of spray paint?!? It just doesn’t get much better than that!
