“Let’s give them something to talk about…” That song keeps going through my head as I begin to write this post! I mean, like I cannot get it out of my head, and I am singing it over and over!
Well, anyway, this gossip bench was an awesome find by my mother in law {whom I LOVE!}.
I love the detailing!
It has been through alot in its few months at my home. First, it sat in my garage waiting to be loved on. Then, it came in and got all fixed up with a dark gray paint and beautiful parisian printed seat. Then, I realized I was just NOT feeling the dark gray and parisian print, so it got yet another makeover. I am finally satisfied with this beautiful piece, and I am so excited to show you how it turned out!
I got my fabric at Hobby Lobby {it is gorgeous or what!?}. I LOVE how it pops against this light gray. You know what is even funnier…this color is Vintage Market & Design, Paris Gray. I guess it was meant for me to go with something Paris.
Did I make a good paint and fabric choice? Can’t you just picture sitting at this bench and chatting your worries away with your BFF?

A gossip bench has two chairs facing opposite directions. That’s a telephone table. When we only had one telephone in our homes some people were lucky enough to have a sweet table to set the phone on because it had a fat cord. The chair gave us a comfortable place to sit in and the shelf under the table held your phone book. ?

I appreciate your feedback. When I researched what to call it, all of the pictures and information I found were called gossip benches…and they looked either just like what I had to very similar in nature with the table and chair with small table. Maybe there are different kinds?! Again, thanks for the feedback!

So pretty! One of my first furniture redos was a gossip bench. But I’m too embarrassed to post the link to that ancient post – I would never choose the same colors/fabric again – ugh! 馃檪

Love your ideas and your re makes. I used to do a lot of that. Junk piles were one of my favorite places to shop. Lol. I hit a lot of thrift stores too. Keep up the good work, can’t wait to see all your Christmas decor ideas.

I haven鈥檛 seen one of those since I was a little girl. We used it as our phone chair but that鈥檚 a good place to sit and gossip on the phone! Love the blue and white. One of my favorite combinations! I鈥檓 sure it will look great wherever you put it.
