I get asked all the time where I find cheap home decor, and while I would love to tell you just one place- that is just not how I roll. I literally look any and everywhere. If I am in a store and it has home decor for sale, I am looking. I just am. I love it. You never know when you may find the perfect piece, so you always have to be on the lookout. I love yard sales, thrift stores, boutique shops, drug stores, etc… BUT I do have a list of some of my top stores where I pretty much always find awesome items, so I want share those with you today!
**NOTE- this is not the shopping I do ONLINE- these are in store only.
- Hobby Lobby– When I think about where to buy home accessories, Hobby Lobby is one of my go-to’s. I do admit that I have not found as much in the past few months as in the past, but either way- this store has pretty much anything you could ever want, and you can’t beat their prices. When they run their 50% off deals, you can get amazing deals on hundreds of quality decor items, as well as floral stems. I like to look in their clearance section, because you never know what you can find there- marked at up to 90% off at times. Their seasonal sections are always great to check out too, because many times they are marked down, but the items don’t necessarily look seasonal and can fit the style you are looking for. Always look at the holiday items! Knobs are also a great thing to buy here because they have a huge selection. Changing out the knobs on a dresser, closet doors, etc. can change the look of a room drastically, and you can get beautiful, quality knobs for anywhere from $1.99 and up! You seriously can’t beat that.
- At Home– I don’t have an At Home close to me, and it is probably a very good thing. {My closest one is 1.5 hours away} I LOVE this store! I can spend hours in there looking at their home decor and still feel like I haven’t seen it all. They are one of the best home decor stores with lots of furniture, bedding, pillows, end tables, kitchen accessories and pretty much everything home related in between. Their prices are pretty much unbeatable too. If you love a good bargain, you need to be shopping at At Home. I guarantee you will never leave empty handed.
- TJ Maxx/Homegoods– I am using these 2 together because they are one in the same to me. Obviously, Homegoods has more home decor and furniture to choose from, but I never leave empty handed at either one! TJ Maxx is more hit or miss on what you may find, but they have amazing prices on their picture frames and random decor pieces. I always find really different and fun items here to just sit around. Occasionally, I even find a cool chair or some wall art, but I mostly get sit around things to decorate shelves or things like that. They also always have great prices on things like table runners, placemats, baskets, etc…
Home Goods literally has ANYTHING you could want, and their prices are always spot on. I love their larger decor pieces, furniture and selection of pillows, throws, etc… - Burkes Outlet– We have a Burkes Outlet close to my home, and I love going there! They don’t always have a TON of home decor, but I almost always find something. It is a random variety of items, but they have some really neat vases, stand up letters, frames, bottles, etc… basically just really cool sit around items. I also love to find random plates and things like that for my plate rack or coffee bar.
- Kirklands– I am sure most of you already know that Kirklands is an amazing place to find beautiful home decor items! Their large pictures are usually some of the best prices around, and I always at least stop by and check their selection out when I have a chance! I also always love their mirrors and lamps. It is usually my go-to for those kinds of items. I am also a K Club member, which simply means they keep track of how much I spend, and after I have spent so much, I get $10 free to spend (no minimum!). It is NOT a credit card at all. I don’t recommend those, personally…but this is just a rewards club, and I have gotten lots of free money by buying items I needed already.
- Ross Dress for Less– If you have never been to one of these, you may not realize the hidden treasures that can be found! It is similar to a TJ Maxx or Marshall’s {which is another favorite!}, but it doesn’t usually have AS MUCH decor to chose from. While I say that it doesn’t usually have as much, that is somewhat misleading. I can’t think of a single time that I have visited recently when I have not left with MORE items than at any of the other stores that are similar in style. They tend to have great pillows, throws, trays, frames, and random sit around items for serious bargains. I even found an awesome set of lamps for $19.99 each the other day. You truly never know about a store like this, but it is always worth the time to look! I also LOVE their cute chairs, end tables and random one off pieces.
- Target– I have to be honest that this store is often a go to for one of a kind decor items. I have never thought Target was “cheap” as far as decor goes, but you can definitely find great prices. What I love about it is that it is usually very different and one of a kind. I have bought end tables, curtains, wall decor and all kinds of different items here for homes. It has everything you could need and usually within the budget you are working with. Their Dollar Spot is also unreal, and you can always find great little items for the home for a little of nothing, especially if you are willing to get creative, and you KNOW I am!
- Michael’s– Michael’s is one of those stores {kind of like Hobby Lobby}, where I could stay for way too long. I love their random letters that they have {they literally have SOOO many to choose from}, as well as their unique display of floral stems and home accents. Their prices are usually very budget friendly, and you can always find coupon codes online for additional savings. You can also find great deals in their dollar bins–and I always spend extra money that I shouldn’t because I can’t resist!
- Bargain Hunt – If you don’t like to “dig” while shopping, do not go here. That is fair warning. This is one of those stores that you really have to take your time in because so many things are boxed up, and you can’t tell what is in there without really looking. Now, not everything is boxed up, but a lot of items are. Nothing is very organized, but there are truly UNREAL deals to be found. We have one about 20 minutes from my house, and I love going there. I don’t mind digging at all, and I have found some amazing deals by taking the time to look. With this store, all prices are based on the date on the tag. Depending how long the item has been there, that will determine your discount. Some items could be up to 90% off. I saw a chandelier in there the other day that was $70.00 because of the length of time it had been there. It was gorgeous but I literally did NOT need it, so I let it go.
- Booth Malls– A booth mall is usually a large building that has lots of different sections that are filled up with items that an individual or small business owns that they sell on consignment. The person rents the space from the owner of the building each month, and they receive a check for a percentage of what has sold in their booth. There are usually lots of vintage, antique items and furniture, but many booths are simply more like a yard sale. They are all different. I love these places and have found numerous decor items for my own home in here. I love to paint furniture and other items, so this is a great place to find items that need some work. I have also found neat candlesticks, old books to sit around, vases, etc. You literally just never know what you may find, and the prices are usually always great. Some booth owners will even negotiate, although not always. BUT, it never hurts to ask! 馃檪
- Marshalls- I LOVE Marshalls! It is very similar to TJ Maxx, but I feel like their decor does vary. While you may see some of the same things, it is also quite different. The Marshalls closest to me has a really good variety of furniture, which I love. I just really enjoy finding unique furniture pieces at a place like that instead of a big furniture store. I also love finding holiday themed items at Marshalls. They seem to always knock it out of the park with those types of things!
Now, like I said before- this list is certainly not exclusive! I literally look for decor bargains anywhere I go…but these stores are always a must go to when I am looking for bargains!I hope this list was helpful to you and that maybe you found some new places that you have never thought to go! Do you have any places you love to shop for a decor bargain? I would love to hear!
**Also, as a little extra- IKEA is also a fantastic place to find amazing bargains! I don’t have one anywhere remotely close to my home {closest is a good 4.5 hrs away}, so I didn’t include it in my list- BUT if you have one close, it is definitely a must go to! Beware- they are huge and overwhelming, but their prices are amazing, and there is so much you can do to spruce up some of their exisiting decor that they have for great prices too, if you are up to it!**

I live in the same town as you but have never heard of Bargain Hunt Superstore. Where is this? I’m assumin in Paducah somewhere? Love your blog, by the way, and that it’s a local gal makes it even better!!

Give Ollie’s Outlet a try! There’s one in Elizabethtown, and several other areas in Kentucky and Tennessee. Been there several times, you never know what you will find. The E-town one is close to Ft. Knox….they have anything you could ever think of, at VERY reasonable prices!

Seriously what does Targets stance on transgender bathroom use have anything to do with shopping. You felt it important enough to mention you “don’t agree with it” but it doesn’t bother you enough to not shop there. I’m not sure why you even bothered mentioning it in the first place other then to state you do not believe in equality. It’s such a shame we still have to live in a world where this perfectly acceptable.
Brooke Riley says
I am sorry you do not agree with me and my stance. My stance on how I feel about transgender bathrooms has nothing to do with my feelings about equality and what I feel about all people and their individual rights.

Those are some really great stores and I can’t wait to see your online list! Since these are all in person stores, do you haggle at any of them for pricing? Will your online list be coming out soon or is it already available and I missed it?

We can鈥檛 forget Pop Shelf! I had never heard of it until you mentioned it in a blog post some time ago. Also, sometimes you can find cute stuff at Big Lots! Really anxious to see the online list!

Meijer, JoAnn Fabric, FB Marketplace, Pop Shelf & Five Below are also awesome places. I love 5 Below for art supplies! I also second your emotion about Hobby Lobby. With refinishing furniture being my first love, Hobby Lobby is my go to for knobs and pulls, followed by Amazon and eBay. Love this post! Very informative!
