Yes, you are seeing correctly! Re-Fabbed has a recipe! As you know, I am NOT a food blogger! I love food, but I don’t love to cook it nearly as much 馃槈 So, you know if I share it- it is because it is EASY and GOOD! Today I am sharing a fun and easy snack that will be great for cookouts and get togethers during the upcoming fall season! I do have to admit something, though. This was all my husband’s idea. He is the one who came up with this, and I am pretty darn proud of him! It was brilliant. If you love s’mores, you will LOVE this treat!
So, one of my absolute favorite treats is a s’more. The marshmallow, the chocolate, the graham cracker…it is just almost too good for words! When Brandon mentioned the idea of a “Pumpkin S’more”, I was immediately all ears. I wasn’t sure what he had in mind, but when he laid it out for me, I was all in. The idea was to have a patch of “grass” with a cute little marshmallow pumpkin sitting in it with a mini reese as a stem. Brilliant.
What you will need: {This is exactly what I used, brand and all…just so you would know exactly}
and one more thing…oops! {Didn’t remember it for my awesome collage!}
What to do:
Take one spoonful of coconut oil and put it into a small container. Repeat in another small container. {Note* You can use any type of oil. You are only using this to mix with your food coloring so that it will blend with your almond bark. If you do not do this step, the almond bark will turn into a play-dough type substance.* There is a specific food coloring for making candy that you can use as well.}
Heat for 10 seconds to soften the oil.
Add orange gel coloring to one container and green gel coloring to another container. {Add as much as needed for desired shade}
Stir rapidly with a fork to mix very well. If too runny, add a little more coconut oil.
Now, take 2 squares of your almond bark and place into 2 small containers {a little larger than the ones you used for your food coloring}.
Place in microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds. This will really soften your almond bark and make it easy for mixing with your coloring.
Add each of your colored mixes to each bowl until you reach your desired shade of green and orange. {It is ok if the green isn’t really dark. It will darken up when you add the sprinkles.}
Grab a toothpick and poke a hole in the top of your marshmallow. This will give you something to hold onto while you stir your marshmallow around in the chocolate mixture!
After dipping your marshmallows, put your “grass” on your graham crackers {aka chocolate icing mixture}.
Rub it around the square until it fills the whole area, and then sprinkle your green sprinkles all over the top.
Once this process is complete, place your marshmallows on your squares. Then, place your mini reeses cup on the top of the marshmallow to make your “stem”.
After that, you are DONE! How cute are these little pumpkin s’mores?!
Not only are they cute, but they are SO GOOD!!! {I may or may not have eaten 2 or 3!}
This is a definite must have for your next get-together! Enjoy!
If you enjoyed this recipe, share it with others! That is the ULTIMATE compliment!
