The Dollar General has so much to choose from in the Christmas decor department. Now, let me be honest…alot of it is not my style, per se…but I can see potential in lots of it to MAKE it more of mine or to show you some inspiration!
This little diy makeover today is one that I am just sharing for inspiration, so that maybe I can help you to look past what is and look at what could be! The snowman wreath isn’t “bad”…but the ribbon is sooo generic looking and is all crinkled up and just looks cheap.
It was just $8, which I thought was very fair, taking into account all the greenery, the 2 wreath forms and the snowman hat. You didn’t have to “make the snowman” because it was already together, so you could just remove a little bit and replace…and you would be good to go!
The bow was just hot glued on, so it popped right off!
The hat is styrofoam underneath, so it was just poked into this little stick. Would be super easy to stick by on when I was ready!
I picked some ribbon from my stash and made me a little re-fabbed bow.
I took some of the wavy pom pom ribbon and lined the bottom of the hat where the plaid ribbon was and glued it on, and then I glued all of the greenery back in place on top of the ribbon.
I didn’t take a picture of the bow process, but I you can see how I do my bows HERE. I simply hot glued the bow on in the place where the former bow was and called it good!
With very little work and very little time spent, I had a cute little snowman wreath that would definitely fit my style more than what it was, and I didn’t even have to buy supplies, because I had all the ribbon on hand!
Hope you enjoyed this fun little makeover! PIN FOR LATER!
