I love spindles. They are one of those items that I somewhat “hoard”…kinda like cool picture frames! I love the whimsiness of spindles and how they can be used so versatile in your home! I have had these cute little spindles for a couple of years. I got a box FULL at a local junk/antique store, and I have loved having them on hand to decorate with. You may remember them in this post! Well, since I still have so many extra, I thought it would be fun to use them in a new, fun way! I decided to make DIY Spindle FIREWORKS!
Here are my supplies:
Spindles (any size will do)–these have a hole going through the whole middle, which made them work great for this!
Craft Paint in red, white and blue
Paint Brush
Fun 4th of July picks
So, DIY Spindle Fireworks are a super simple project! It has a whimsy, homemade look (because, well…it is homemade LOL) and it will fit in perfectly mixed in with some other patriotic pieces in your home!
Just take your plain spindle and paint it a solid color. I painted 1 red, 1 white and 1 blue!
After they dry, just take a small paint brush and add fun little details. I did lots of polka dots because they are my fave! I also just painted little striped areas in other colors for accents!
Once all painted, I took my picks apart to make them shorter, so that they would fit better. I then just stuck them in the top of my spindle and positioned them how I liked them.
That’s all! These DIY Spindle Fireworks turned out just darlin’!
Sometimes it is just really fun to try to think outside of the box!
