Today’s DIY is a super cute ghost sign using Dollar Tree ghost ornaments! It sure is cute, y’all! (And NOT your traditional Halloween feel!)
I am taking a little bit of a different approach to Halloween this year with my decorating! I am going for more of a “FALL-OWEEN” look! What does that mean? Well, I am trying to incorporate Halloween decor into my existing FALL, by simply changing a few things up, so that I am not having to overhaul everything! It just makes it easier…or that is my hope!
Supplies Needed:
Wooden piece of any kind (mine came from Target)
Boo pick from Michaels
Pack of ghost ornaments from Dollar Tree
Hot Glue gun
Cameo Pink paint from Apple Barrel
Snow White paint from Apple Barrel (optional)
Scissors
Dollar Tree mesh (or any kind of ribbon for bows)
A fun rope (or you can use twine)
I painted my entire sign with the cameo pink, but it felt too pepto bismol to me, so I added white while it was still wet and lightened it up more. I like the new color MUCH better, for this project!
Much better bow! I know pictures are hard to see, but you get the idea!
I am using 3 of these little ornaments. You get the as a pack of 8 at your local Dollar Tree!
I painted the ghosts white!
After painting them, I hot glued them to my sign…and then I glued the boo above them! (The boo was on a stick, because it was a Halloween pick, so I just popped the stick off)
Once everything dried, I sprayed my whole sign with mod podge spray (not pictured) and then added irridescent glitter all over it!
This little roll of mesh is from Dollar Tree, and I have gotten so much use out of it! I made little tiny bows for the ghosts with it!
I glued each bow to the top of the ghosts to cover the “ornament” hole!
I felt like the sign still needed a little more, so I added some Dollar Tree glitter bats to each side to finish it off!
And last but not least, I forgot to mention that at the beginning, I went ahead and took my twine out so that I could replace it with
I seriously think this project turned out SUPER cute, and I am loving it on my Halloween tree! See how I decorated this Halloween tree on Facebook live HERE!
