How many of you HOARD these Folgers coffee cans to use for crafts?!?!
I wanted to use mine for a Christmas project… and I thought of the perfect thing- a Christmas tree BASE!
You’ll want to stick around ’til the end for this one… you won’t even recognize it started out as a coffee can!!!
Here’s what you’ll need…
*some affiliate links are used!*
- plastic coffee can
- white paint (I used Apple Barrel acrylic paint)
- ribbon of your choice (I used burlap with red stripes!)
- nautical rope from Dollar Tree
- twine from Dollar Tree
- hot glue
- Christmas tree from Dollar Tree
- tissue paper
Step one… paint your coffee can! I chose white… but you can use any color you’d like! I used white acrylic paint from Apple Barrel Paints.
Mine took 3 coats to completely cover.
Now, take your ribbon and measure it to fit around the can!
Simply just hot glue it on around the top of the can.
Next, hot glue your Dollar Tree nautical rope right on top of the ribbon you just laid down!
Take your Dollar Tree twine, and wrap it multiple times around your can at the BOTTOM of the ribbon. I hot glued one end down, spun the twine around the can, then hot glued the other end down!
This is what it should be looking like!!!
To finish it off, stick your Dollar Tree Christmas Tree down in the can, add tissue paper around as filler, and add a little twine bow! Then you’re DONE!!!
Would you believe me if I told you this started out as a COFFEE CAN?!?!?
Feast your eyes folks… you can make this coffee can Christmas tree base to match ANY style!!! Like more pops of color?! Use a different ribbon! Want to add more green? Use green twine! Possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!
Save this for later!
