It’s official… I started decorating for Fall!!!! Although I love everything about Summer, I’m actually ready for the crisp air, and everything that comes along with Autumn!
In honor of Fall quickly approaching, I wanted to create something I could use on a tiered tray… which is where this diy candy corn decor was born!!!
Lucky for you… today’s project is actually a TWO for one deal! 😉 I’m showing you how to make TWO different styles of candy corn… both of which are SUPER easy & cheap to make!
Here’s what you’ll need…

- orange & yellow colored cord (from Walmart)
- white ribbon
- Anything shaped like candy corn (I used letters A and V!)
- orange, yellow, and white burlap
- hot glue gun
We’re starting with our smaller candy corn!
I found this colored cord at Walmart for $.98 each… which was a bargain to me!!! I also bought my “V” letter from walmart, too!
Start by taking the yellow cord, and hot gluing it to the widest part of the letter, since this is the bottom of the candy corn.
Simply wrap it up the letter, until you want your next color to start!
Do the exact same thing with the orange cord! Just hot glue and wrap until you reach the point where you want your white ribbon to go!
Instead of using white cord (which you totally could do) I thought it would be fun to use a pom-pom ribbon!! I just cut out strips of the ribbon, and hot glued them on until the whole top was covered.
And that’s it for our first one!!! Let’s move on to our bigger candy corn!
For this one, I used a letter “A”… just because that’s what I had on hand!
Instead of cord, we’ll be using burlap for this one! To start! Take your yellow burlap, and place it behind your letter. Trace out where you want your yellow to end, and cut!
Simply hot glue your cut-out to the front of the letter.
Do the exact same thing for the orange and white!
And now, we have BOTH of our candy corns COMPLETE!!!
I thought these would be PERFECT for a tiered tray display this fall! You can see a super cute Fall tiered tray inspiration on the blog HERE!
No matter how you style them, they are sure to be the perfect fit for your Fall decor!!

I love these ideas for candy corn. I only have one little candy corn in my decorations so now I have some ideas for more. As soon as I can get out and go shopping I’m going to get the stuff to make both of these. But right now I have shingles so it will have to wait!🤕
