Every now and then there is that time in your life that having one of the messiest spaces in the world pays off! So, if you have one if your own home, don’t lose faith–good things may be coming your way, so don’t clean just yet 馃檪 HA. For me, my pantry, of which I cannot even believe I will actually be showing you, is one of those rooms that has truly been a catch all since I moved into my home 2 years ago. It is the most oddly shaped room with a big ole box in the back that is built in, and sloped ceilings because it is placed under the stairwell. It has potential, but I have sure never tapped into it.
In a blogging group that I am in, it was mentioned that Goodhousekeeping was looking for your “Disaster Zone” spaces, so I thought to myself…”BOY DO I HAVE ONE OF THOSE!” You were supposed to submit a picture of your space and explain what your space was to you and what you wanted to change to better utilize that space. If we were chosen to participate in this challenge, they would provide you with a professional organizer to give you a detailed description of what you needed to do in this space to best utilize it to be what you want and need it to be. You were supposed to follow as much of their suggestions as possible. Sounded great to me, so I submitted my pantry. If this wasn’t a disaster zone, then I surely didn’t know what was.
Wowzers, folks. Can you believe that in that beautiful, aqua kitchen there is THIS lurking behind that door?!?! Bless me.
Well, a few weeks after submitting this entry, I heard back that I was indeed CHOSEN to participate in the Spring Cleaning Challenge! How could they not want to help me? As a blogger in her first year, something like this is just so awesome. Actually, even if I was a veteran blogger, it would still be awesome! Who am I kidding?
So, I have received detailed ideas from the AMAZING聽Maeve Richmond, founder and coach of聽Maeve鈥檚 Method聽on how she would best reorganize this space, and all I have to do is follow as much of her advice as possible and post all about the transformation! It will go live on Good Housekeeping’s site during the first week of April. Is that not fun!? Bad news is, I am down to only a little over a week left until my deadline, so I better get busy! Rome wasn’t built in a day, and there is NO way this pantry is going to be either!
Wish me luck. I sure think I am going to need it. And, one more thing–please don’t judge me! {insert that bug eyed emoticon}
Don’t miss when this transformation post goes live!
