I am so excited to be sharing my very first Christmas Home Tour with you today! Who doesn’t like a tour that you can take while still sitting in your PJ’s sipping on your favorite coffee? I hope you enjoy and feel right at home as you see a glimpse into our home at Christmastime! {And don’t forget, my neighbor, Fun Home Things is also hosting her Christmas Home Tour today, so you will definitely want to make your way over to her home next!}
As you approach our door, you are greeted with a small porch area decked out with very simple arrangements of Christmas goodness!
I love my old sled with the berry wreath and the old galvanized bucket of berry stems! So simple, but so cute and inviting! My deer head wreath was a very favorite of mine! He was so simple, yet set the perfect mood for my porch. Bless his poor heart, he is no longer with us. Just a couple of days after taking these pictures, he fell to his death when my coat got caught on his antler. Dang it. At least he is looking good in these pictures!
The JOY pallet sign is my all time favorite Christmas decoration this year. I smile everytime I pull into the driveway and see it sitting on my porch. It was just a 10 minute project, but adds so much jazz to this little area!
Well, that’s about all there is out front! Not much room to decorate, although I do think it came along quite nicely 🙂
Come on in, and make yourself at home!
As you walk in my front door, you come directly into my living room. Looking to the right, you will see my tree and fireplace. I have always wanted a fireplace, and this is the first house that we have lived in that actually had one. It is a lot of fun decorating it each year. This year is my very favorite.
I love the traditional reds, greens and whites for our main living area every year. I have used these colors for the past 9 years since we got married, and I just add a little more each year and change out here and there as new things tickle my fancy. I love the addition of the old sled with the wreath!
I love having my Vaseline frame hanging out on my mantle this year! It had the right height, and by changing out the scrapbook paper, it became quite festive indeed. {And how cute is that nutcracker?!}
I love having this old chair sitting by the fireplace. It is so fun to decorate for the seasons.
My whimsical tree is my all time favorite tree! I add to it every year, and I begin to wonder if it will ever be “full” enough for me?! It is so fun and crazy. It makes me smile.
Straight in front of the fireplace, on the other side of the couch, is our stairwell. All of our bedrooms are upstairs {which I hate}, but other than that…I love having stairs because I love the banister! My mother-in-law made that blessed burlap sign a few years ago, and I thought it fit in perfectly right there this year.
The pallet coat rack looks so pretty decorated with my Hobby Lobby deer head and my rustic decor!
This fun little arrangement is messy but so cute! I found these flocked stems at an after Christmas sale at a local boutique, and I had the flower and red and white balls on hand. I threw them all together, and I just loved this crazy mess!
As we head into the dining room, these guys are just hanging out looking all fun and whimsical! Seriously, how cute are they? I really didn’t have room for them this year, but I just couldn’t leave them out.
So here we go into the dining room! This room is directly off the living room and kitchen {a room that you will be touring at a later time!}
I really love having a dining room space. We rarely use it to actually eat in, but I do most of my crafting on this table, and it usually houses plenty of projects!
This feather tree was a DIY, can you believe it?!
I love these snowflakes on the sconces. I have had them since we got married, and they are some of my favorites. The only problem is, one of these also fell to its death during this tour, so now I just have 1. Dang it.
My sweet family 🙂
As simple as it is, this is one of my favorite little decorations. I had this white pitcher, and while it was pretty “as is”, I thought it would be prettier dressed up a little more, so I took some twine and tied a pinecone on. Turned out so cute!
Taking scrapbook paper and modge podge‘ing it can really make a statement for holidays without spending hardly any money at all! And just adding a few $1 holiday pics here and there make for a festive touch too.
This is a glimpse into my kitchen and office and how it all comes together 🙂
I guess it is time to go, for now. I loved having you come by, and I hope to see you again very soon! There are still more rooms in my home that I can’t wait to show you!
Merry Christmas! Be sure to check out my neighbor and friend, Katie’s home tour over at Fun Home Things! Her home is GORGEOUS, and you will not want to miss it!
