If you spend about five minutes with Irma Massey, you will learn that she absolutely LOVES to entertain her family and friends in her beautiful Mayfield, Kentucky home! After reading all about our very first home tour with Sherri Powell, another follower messaged us and suggested we reach out to Irma to see if she would consider letting us feature her home in a future tour. When we tell you that this house is going to KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF, we are NOT kidding! There is so much to see, we are going to start with the outside areas, then tour the inside in another post!! Don’t you already absolutely love this “first look”of the front?!?!
Irma and her husband, Kevin, have lived in this house for right at two years now. They previously lived across the road on a larger farm, which they decided to sell after their son and daughter were grown. They were living in a temporary RV just down the road on the night of the deadly tornado that hit Mayfield in 2021. Their neighborhood was in the direct path (actually one of the hardest hit areas!) and they had to take shelter next door in their daughter’s walk-in shower. Thankfully, they were not injured!
It was a rainy, miserable day when we toured this beautiful home, but you could not help but to get in the Christmas spirit before you even walked in the door!! Everything was SO bright and festive!!!
How cute are these evergreens that she has in her planters?!?! She is going to plant them in her yard after the Christmas season!
We loved the classic red that Irma used in all of her decorations. It REALLY pops against the darker exterior!!
Is it just us, or would you also like to sit down on this cozy front porch and rock for a while? We could not believe Irma’s attention to detail in every little nook!
Ahhhh, these beautiful arched doors were seriously the STAR OF THE SHOW on this house!!!
Now if you think you loved the front of this house, just wait until you see the back!!! It’s an entertainer’s dream!!!! We snagged some pics from Irma from the summer months so you could see her beautiful pool area!
This swing under the pergola at the pool area is just perfect! As rainy and cold as it is today as we are writing, this warm pool day looks like a dream come true!!
This fire pit is on the same bottom level as the pool and is perfect for a summer evening fire and roasting marshmallows!
One of our favorite parts of Irma’s home was all of the natural materials like stone and wood that were used. It truly felt like a vacation home in the mountains!
The back porch had so many different areas. This conversation area with the propane fire pit was SUPER cozy! They also had some of the freestanding patio heaters to keep it warm and make it an all-year living space!
Irma lit this in a jif and it was perfect for the cold, rainy day!!! We agreed that we could pretty much live out there if needed!
She also has a table and chairs for an outdoor dinner party or even lunch on a pool day!
The outdoor kitchen space is so handy, especially in the warm summer months, to keep from heating up your house and messing up the indoor kitchen. You can see that A LOT of time is spent out here!!
How cute is this custom-made sign for the outdoor kitchen?!?!?
You can not only see the outside bar area here, but you can also get a little sneaky-peek at the inside areas, which we will feature SOON!
We loved the vintage look of the outside refrigerator!
She’s not wrong, is she?!?!
We hope you LOVED this tour of the outside of Kevin and Irma’s home!! We know that we LOVED it ALL!!!! Trust us when we say that you are NOT going to want to miss part 2 of this virtual home tour!!! There is about one of the COOLEST design elements you’ve ever seen right in her kitchen!!!!! YOU WON’T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!
If you loved this virtual home tour, be sure you check THIS ONE too!
Be sure to pin for later!

Brooke, back in the day,( I can’t believe I just said that) we only had the thin, look at them wrong or they’d break Christmas ornaments. Our tree was so shiny. I actually put a white flocked tree up in my living room, it was preliminary and put extra white lights on it and that was all I did. My living room is black, white and gray. The tree in the corner was amazing. I put up a few decorated trees and that room was my favorite by far.
